On December 6, 2019, the Human Resources Development Center celebrated its 20th anniversary in the conference room of Inter Expo and Congress Center, Sofia. The event was an occasion for rewarding the successfully implemented Erasmus + projects and brought together over 350 representatives from different educational institutions in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n
Maria Gabriel \u2013 European Commissioner for Innovation and Research, Culture, Education and Youth opened the conference under the motto of Erasmus +: “Changing lives, Opening minds”.<\/em><\/p>\n Official guests of the conference were Krasimir Valchev, Minister of Education and Science, Krasen Kralev, Minister of Youth and Sports, Yanka Takeva, President of the Union of Bulgarian Teachers, Prof. Lyuben Totev, Chairman of the Council of Rectors, rectors, teachers and representatives of academic backgrounds.<\/p>\n Petyo Kanev, Executive Director of the HRDC made an overview of the activities carried out during the year and the successful outcomes achieved in the field of European education and training programs in Bulgaria since the Center was founded. Then, at an official ceremony, more than 40 Bulgarian organizations – secondary schools and high education institutions – were awarded a certificate of quality and a plaquette for excellent implementation of Erasmus + projects, including the Medical University – Sofia.<\/p>\n Our university has proven once again its leader position in higher education. The Erasmus + program contributes to the expansion of international cooperation in various regions of the world. The successful completion of our mobility project with partner countries such as South Africa, Morocco, Japan and Jordan has given teachers and students the chance to become researchers and scientists in the name of the noble cause called medicine.<\/p>\n As part of the event, an exhibition “I Can Do It Too” was held with 18 working and creative workshops in which talented children and young people who participated in Erasmus + projects and under the European Solidarity Corps program demonstrated knowledge and skills, acquired while working on European education and youth projects.<\/p>\n
