The High Level Expert Group (HLEG) was set up by the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) in January 2019.\r\n\r\n    \r\n    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The High Level Expert Group was tasked with assessing the effectiveness of EU measures supporting the development of a well-balanced and competitive European research infrastructure system.
