An international fair of traditions took place today at MU-Sofia, kindly hosted by the Department of Language Education and Sports. Students from the university’s international community brought traditional dishes from their countries that they had prepared themselves, and organizers welcomed them with traditional Bulgarian honey bread. The young people told a few words about how and when the dishes are consumed, and then participated in a short training in Bulgarian folk dances.
The event was part of the campaign to unite the multinational student community at MU-Sofia. It was opened by Prof. Anzhelika Velkova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and led by Prof. Dobriana Sidzhimova, Director of the Department of Education and Culture at MU-Sofia.
The fair is the 3rd out of four events within the framework of the National Program “Popularization of Bulgarian Education and Facilitation of Access for Applications of Persons of Bulgarian Ethnicity Living Abroad for Study in Bulgarian Higher Education Institutions” of the Ministry of Education and Science.
