On September 22, 2025, the European Commission’s “European Mobility Week” campaign took place. It coincides with World Car-Free Day — “Happy Biking – Healthy Living.”
The initiative also includes various accompanying events, in which the Medical University – Sofia is an active participant.
As per tradition, this year again representatives of the student network “Air for Health” and the Student Council of MU-Sofia took part in marking World Car-Free Day. MU-Sofia’s commitment to sustainable green policies was further demonstrated through its partnership in the European university alliance INGENIUM.
The students spoke about the mission of “Air for Health” and the impact of air pollution. They conducted lung capacity tests (spirometry), blood pressure measurements, and blood sugar level checks for citizens, who took advantage of the opportunity to walk through Sofia on the car-free day.
