A delegation from MU-Sofia participated in the Community meeting of the Alliance4Life_Brigde project, which was held on February 18-19, 2025. in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The host of the major annual event was the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ljubljana.
The program included general presentations and discussions, as well as work in thematic focus groups. The new Tenth Framework Program (FP10) for research and innovation of the European Commission, which is due to enter into force in 2028, was discussed. It will introduce changes in the way science funds are financed and managed, which, according to the organizers, will greatly affect university consortia such as Alliance4Life. In this regard, the program and the changes it is expected to introduce, the official position of Slovenia on the topic, as well as the prepared position of the Alliance4Life alliance, which is expected to be finalized within a month and distributed in April at the national level in the countries where there are partner universities, were presented.
A broad discussion of the microcredit system for exchange and mobility was also organized. Within the framework of the BRIDGE project itself, a Virtual Science Center was also created – a platform for scientists, divided into “departments” according to the sectors of science in which they work.
