This academic year at Medical University – Sofia will start in mixed form. Lectures will be held online, and the practical exercises will be held on-ground in compliance with all the anti-epidemic measures. This decision was taken at the Rectors’ council last week.
“Over 70% of the professors and academic staff of the university have been vaccinated or have passed through COVID-19, which gives us the reason to be more flexible in our decisions,” said the Rector, Prof. Latchezar Traykov, MD, DSC. In addition, international students who are barred from traveling by their countries and are unable to come to study are given the opportunity to “attend” the exercises online. Those who are not restricted by their countries and depending on the access regime in Bulgaria, could be trained in person in strict compliance with the anti-epidemic measures. In some clinical disciplines, practical training groups will be divided into two.
The possibility for online practical training in case of imposition of stricter measures thereof remains unchanged. The academic year for international students will start on October 25th, and the official start will be announced on September 27th.
