The representatives of the National Mirror Group (NMG) of the ERDERA alliance in Bulgaria, Prof. Radka Kaneva and Dr. Petya Stratieva, gave an extensive interview for the international ERDERA newsletter. In it, they talk about how Bulgaria is working to develop the ecosystem for the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases in order to catch up with European progress in this field.
Prof. Kaneva is a renowned geneticist and expert in the diagnosis of rare diseases at the Medical University of Sofia, and Dr. Petya Stratieva is a leading patient advocate and co-founder of “Rare Diseases Bulgaria” – the National Alliance of People with Rare Diseases. Together, the two ladies play a key role in the National Mirror Group (NMG) of Bulgaria, which brings together clinical, research and patient perspectives in a common national forum.
