Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Tzecomir Vodenitcharov, MD, DSc”, MU-Sofia hosted a landmark event – INGENIUM Well-being day “Back to school”. On September 18, 2025, in the Aula of St. Catherine Hospital, in front of a full hall with 150 participants – representatives of the academic community of MU-Sofia, employees and students, Dr. Elena Mustakova delivered a lecture on the topic: “Integrated Public Health in the Conditions of the 21st Century”. The event lasted 90 minutes and included a lecture and discussion.
The moderator of the open lecture was the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Prof. Alexandrina Vodenicharova, who shared her thoughts and future projects of the Faculty related to the topic. Dr. Elena Mustakova was introduced by the founder of the Faculty of Public Health, MU-Sofia, Prof. Tzecomir Vodenitcharov, MD, DSc, who extended his best wishes to the audience on the occasion of the start of the new academic year and announced her expertise and extremely useful professional experience, which she shared with those attending the event.

Dr. Mustakova is a Bulgarian-American psychologist, social scientist, and associate professor of psychology. Her work over the past 35 years in the United States has been dedicated to the treatment of individuals, families, and communities in our challenging historical and geopolitical context. It illuminates the systemic connections between individual health, culture, moral development, language, and societal and planetary health.
In the context of the motto of the European University INGENIUM “Connect. Share. Learn”, the following topical questions were addressed:
Why is a transdisciplinary approach necessary in the 21st century?
What are the integral psychosocial skills needed for healthcare in the 21st century?
What are integral health solutions?
