The INGENIUM European University was launched on the 19th of June 2023 in Karlsruhe, at the University of Applied Sciences – HKA. The forum was attended by students and employees of the Medical University – Sofia.
HKA is establishing a European campus with its partners in Bulgaria, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Spain and Sweden. Over the next four years, the alliance will allow easy intra-European mobility for students, teachers and university staff. This mobility should take place not only within the framework of new European study programs with an integrated stay abroad, but also through summer and winter schools in the partner universities, i.e. short-term stays where students from INGENIUM universities will work together on specific topics from their different perspectives.
For the first time, a “Junior Summer School” took place In Karlsruhe, during which three students from each partner university, supported by mentors, dealt with the topics of language, culture and diversity. In addition to the summer school, the program for the week included meetings of the steering committee and various working groups of the alliance, which were attended by more than 40 colleagues from all nine partner universities.
During the last of the five “INGENIUM days” an HKA’s Open Campus day was organized as well. The representatives of the nine European university partners were available for any information to the university community of HKA in a dedicated INGENIUM tent. This gave an opportunity for contacts in the field of future joint projects.
Prof. Dr. Angelika Altmann-Dieses, HKA Vice-President for Academic and International Affairs stated: “I am proud that HKA is hosting the first ever INGENIUM Days and thus offers students and staff the European INGENIUM University” the opportunity to gather in Karlsruhe for the first time, but certainly not for the last time. “The 10 Days of INGENIUM” continued with the “Summer Senior School” – PhD and Masters students interested in a PhD program at the Università degli Studi “G. d’Annunzio” Chieti – Pescara, for which the baton was officially handed over to students from Italy.
At the end of the forum, the partners together planted a tree on the campus area.
