In his speech of acceptance, the new rector of MU-Sofia, prof. Landzhov emphasized that he is very proud of the fact that the oldest medical university in Bulgaria is once again a leader in all directions in which it conducts education.
“This prize is thanks to the entire academic community of Medical University-Sofia, which, for more than a century, with its work, with its enthusiasm, with its sleepless nights and with its competence, continues to raise the authority of the university not only in Europe, but also in the world”.
He shared that this award also comes with a great responsibility for the rector, but he is motivated for a restart – “with new approaches, with innovations, with new research methods and with purposefulness to maintain this high rating of the Medical University”.
In his greeting to the rectors and guests of the ceremony, Acad. Nikolay Denkov congratulated the organizers of the rating system and the ceremony, because their work makes it possible to present the results of the ratings in such a way that “young people can make the right choice in order to know what to expect after completing their higher education.”
He emphasized the importance of the ratings for updating the policies of higher education institutions in order to develop and modernize them.
The prizes are based on the Rating System of Higher Schools in Bulgaria – the annual ranking conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science for over a decade. The award ceremony, organized by “24 Hours” promotes the Rating System as a guide for prospective students regarding which universities and which professional fields offer the best chances for realization on the labor market.
