Visit to MU-Sofia of representatives of Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam

In connection with the implementation of project Contract No.: 2024-1-BG01-KA171-
HED-000209886 from the Erasmus + Program, KD 171 between the Center for Human
Resources Development and Medical University – Sofia, representatives of the Hanoi Medical University, Vietnam, visited Bulgaria for the purpose of teaching and training.
Dr. Van Do delivered a lecture course to representatives of the Laboratory of Clinical
Immunology of the University Hospital “St. Ivan Rilski”; Sofia, led by Prof. Dobroslav
Kyurkchiev.
Of particular interest was the lecture presented on the relationship between the Epstein
-Barr virus (EBV) and malignant diseases.
Dr. Nguyen Van Do graduated from Hanoi Medical University and defended his thesis
at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology at Karolinska University,
Stockholm, Sweden. He then worked for several years at the Laboratory of Clinical
Hematology, Department of Immunology, Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane ,
Australia. He is currently the Head of the Department of Pathophysiology and Immunology at Hanoi Medical University, as well as the Group Leader of the Cancer Research Program at
Dinh Thien. Hoang Medical Institute.
Two representatives of the administrative staff from Medical University – Hanoi: Ms.
Ngoc Anh Li Thi (IT and Communication Manager) and Ms. Huyen Ngan Buoy You
(Deputy Head of Organization and Human Resources) also visited our university.
During their five-day training, in accordance with the rules of the Erasmus + program,
the two representatives visited the Rectorate of the Medical University – Sofia, as well as
various units within the university’s structure.


Working meetings were held with Prof. Dr. Ventsislava Pencheva-Genova, MD ,
Vice-Rector for International Integration and Project Financing and Prof. Antonia Yanakieva,
MD , Head of the MIPF Department, as well as with representatives of the international
office.
Ms. Ngoc An Li Thi and Ms. Huyen Ngan Buoy You were introduced to the processes
in the MIPF department, the project activities and the implementation of the Erasmus +
Program.
Good practices in the implementation of activities between the two universities were
shared. Prospects for expanding future cooperation to include exchange of students and
doctoral students were outlined.
As part of their training cycle, the two representatives of the Medical University of
Hanoi visited the Central Medical Library, led by Ms. Lyudmila Tomova.
