A collaboration agreement between Medical University-Sofia and Hanoi Medical University, was signed on July 22, 2026
The memorandum was signed by the rectors of the two universities, Prof. Boycho Landzhov, MD, PhD, and Prof. Nguyen Huu Tu, in the presence of the Ambassador of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.E. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguet, the Vice-Rector of Hanoi Medical University, Dr. Pham Xuan Thang, the Vice-Rectors of MU-Sofia Prof. Ventsislava Pencheva, MD, PhD and Prof. Krasimira Yoncheva, PhD, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Vietnam Mr. Truong Ngoc Nam and the Head of IIPF Department Prof. Antonia Yanakieva, MD.
The subject of the agreement is to expand the scope of the existing partnership activities between the two universities, which already have active exchange in the field of academic mobility under the Erasmus+ program, direction K171 for exchange with countries outside the EU. In the future, based on the agreement, cooperation will be developed with the aim of implementing joint research, scientific publications and innovation projects. Joint scientific supervision of doctoral students is envisaged, as well as exchange of students and lecturers aiming at both academic and cultural development. Among the commitments in the agreement is also a partnership in the field of digital transformation and education based on simulations.
