Medical University -Sofia invites master’s and PhD students, as well as early career researchers, to participate in the “INGENIUM Summer Senior School”, organized by the University of Crete. The event is part of the “10 Days of INGENIUM” series and will take place from 19 to 23 May 2025 in Heraklion, Crete.
Purpose of the Summer School
The theme of this year’s Summer School is “From Earth Surface to Space”, focusing on the challenges related to the climate crisis, environmental degradation, and biodiversity loss. Participants will explore innovative technologies for Earth observation from space and their role in planet preservation.
Main Topics:
- Impact of the climate crisis and Earth observation
- Connectivity and innovation
- Commercialization of space technologies
- Application of technology and data for environmental protection
Educational Modules and Activities:
- Virtual Component: Two online sessions before the Summer School to introduce the topic
- On-site Week: Active participation in lectures, workshops, and practical sessions
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master’s and PhD students or early career researchers
- Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level)
- Active participation in academic and research activities
- Motivation to engage in international academic exchange
Required Documents:
- Motivation letter in English, based on a thorough understanding of the event’s program
- CV in English
- Academic transcript with current grades (for students only)
- Proof of English proficiency
- Certificates/awards for participation in extracurricular activities
Funding:
All travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the INGENIUM project and the Erasmus+ program.
