The first meeting of Mr. Mao Jencheng, Head of the Education Department at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bulgaria and the Rector of the Ministry of Education and Science, Prof. Dr. Victor Zlatkov, MD, took place today in the Rectorate. Representatives of the Department of International Cooperation and Project Financing of Medical University – Sofia also participated in the talks.
The meeting was initiated by Mr. Mao Yencheng on the occasion of his assumption of office and in connection with the expressed desire for cooperation in the field of higher medical education, such as exchange of students and lecturers.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed – opportunities for short-term exchange of students on both sides in finding similarities in English-language training and practice programs, as well as the possible inclusion and study of traditional Chinese medicine methods as a freely selectable subject in our faculties.
Mr. Mao Yencheng suggested establishing links with leading Chinese medical universities, ranked by MU-Sofia.
The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and understanding.
