After an online meeting of the Rectors and Deans Council of MU – Sofia at the beginning of the week, decisions were made concerning the volunteer work of the students from MU – Sofia.
MEDICAL FACULTY
III, IV, V and VI year students will be financially stimulated for volunteer work in the COVID-wards of university hospitals for at least 60 hours a month out of the time for the classes – as night shifts or weekends. For this purpose, they should present an official document from the respective university hospital, signed by the Executive Director, for the period of the volunteer work.
To the trainee doctors who volunteer in COVID wards of the university hospitals during the undergraduate traineeship a maximum of 107 calendar days from the following traineeships will be recognized for study employment:
Internal diseases – 30 calendar days
Hygiene, epidemiology, infectious diseases and social medicine – 35 calendar days
Emergency medicine – 20 calendar days
General medicine – 15 calendar days
Surgery – 7 calendar days
For recognition of the pre-diploma internship an official document from the respective university hospital, signed by the Executive Director, for the period of the conducted volunteer work should be presented.
FACULTY OF DENTAL MEDICINE
III, IV, V and VI year students will be financially stimulated for volunteer work in COVID-wards of university hospitals for at least 60 hours a month outside of classes – as night shifts or weekends. For this purpose, an official document from the respective university hospital, signed by the Executive Director, for the period of the volunteer work should be presented.
FACULTY OF PUBLIC HEALTH – specialty “nurse”
BRANCH “PROF. Dr. IVAN MITEV “- VRATSA – specialty “nurse”,”medical assistant”,”midwife”,”kinesitherapy”
IV year students will be recognized for pre-diploma internship in volunteer work in COVID-wards of medical institutions for hospital care within the specified time, which will be reported in the Internship Diary.
YORDANKA FILARETOVA MEDICAL COLLEGE
I, II and III year students will be financially stimulated to volunteer in the COVID wards for a minimum of 60 hours per month outside of school hours – as night shifts or weekends. For this purpose, an official document from the respective medical institution for hospital care, signed by the Executive Director, for the period of the volunteer work should be presented.
Students who wish to volunteer should register after 16.11.2020 on the platform created for this purpose of the Medical University – Sofia, in which to indicate the University Hospital/Medical institution for hospital care, where they will volunteer.
For those who have volunteered for at least 60 hours per month out of the training hours, a financial incentive in the amount of 4 scholarships for excellent success is provided (BGN 520).
