Prof. Ilko Karagyozov has left us forever.

An era in obstetrics and gynecology has gone.
Ilko Karagyozov was born in Rousse. He graduated in medicine in 1965 and won an assistant competition at the University Clinic – Clinic “Maichin Dom”-(Mother’s Home). In 1987 he defended his doctoral thesis and in 1991 became a professor.
Prof. Ilko Karagyozov has been the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of Sofia for many years, the Director of the University Maternity Hospital, deputy rector for the medical unit of the Medical University of Sofia.
He has won numerous awards and has held various public and administrative positions, but as he has shared his most valuable award remains the Golden Hands Award given by his students in 2012 at Maichin Dom-(Mother’s Home).

The funeral ceremony will take place on 22.09.2018 (Saturday) from 12.30 in the cathedral “St. Sofia”.
