435 young doctors from Graduate Year 2018 of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University – Sofia received their diplomas and took the Hippocratic Oath yesterday in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. 193 of them are foreigners. Four graduates are complete excellent honorees. For the first time, MU-Sofia has a foreign student who has passed all his exams with excellent grades – Dr. Eman Ayman Anies from Egypt. All of them received the Gold Hippocrates Award as well as a cash prize of BGN 2,500 from the legacy of Dr. Andrey Georgiev from the United States, who bequeathed over $ 1 million to the Medical University – Sofia.
In his congratulations to the graduates, the Rector of MU-Sofia Prof. Dr. Victor Zlatkov reminded that the efforts of the relatives who sacrificed time and resources to support the students should not be forgotten. “I am sure that our university will continue to provide you with academic and professional support,” he added, stressing that MU-Sofia leads among all higher education institutions in Bulgaria as the first in the medical subject area and second of all.
