Our traditional competition “Student and Teacher of the Year” was held this year by the Student Council at the Medical University – Sofia. The winners received their awards at a special ceremony today, in compliance with the safety measures.
An authoritative jury of professors and students evaluated the nominees for their proven academic achievements, knowledge of foreign languages, affinity for research and discovery, participation and presentation of our university in national and international scientific seminars and conferences, achievements and distinctions, and participation in student and non-governmental organizations. Based on this, one winner was determined in the following categories:
• Student of the Year at the Faculty of Medicine – Aylin Feyzullov , 5th year.
The award was presented by Prof. Tsvetalina Tankova, Vice-Rector of MU-Sofia.
• Student of the Year at the Faculty of Dental Medicine – Diana Dimitrova, 5th year.
The award was presented by Prof. Karolina Lyubomirova, Vice-Rector of MU-Sofia.
• Student of the Year at the Faculty of Pharmacy – Marina Teneva, 5th year.
The award was presented by Prof. Valentina Petkova, Vice-Rector of MU-Sofia.
• Student of the Year at the Faculty of Public Health – Maria Teneva, 4th year, majoring in Public Health and Health Management.
The award was presented by Prof. Karolina Lyubomirova, Vice-Rector of MU-Sofia.
• Student of the Year at the Medical College “Yordanka Filaretova ” – Petya Varbanova, 3rd year, specialty ” X-ray technician ” .
The award was presented by Prof. Zaharina Savova, director of the college.
• Student of the Year at the Branch of MU Vratsa “Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev ” – Tsvetelina Nikolova, 3rd year, specialty “ Nurse ”.
Maria Kozhuharova, 5th year student, majoring in Medicine, became the student of the year at the Medical University – Sofia. She received her award personally from the Rector of MU-Sofia, Academician Traykov, MD, DSC.
After giving their vote from the specially designed platform, the students of the university distinguished their preferred teachers from the different faculties. Prof. Dr. Savina Hadjidekova, MD, Head of the Department of Medical Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine, became a favorite lecturer in the field of medical and biological sciences. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Toshev, MD from the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, was awarded as a favorite lecturer in the field of medical and clinical sciences. As most preferred teachers in the medical and social sciences were selected prof. Valentina Petkova, D.Sc., Vice-Rector for Science and Accreditation, and prof. Antoniya Yanakieva, Head of department “Health technology assessment” at the Faculty of Public Health.
